Top 5 Candidates for Deontay Wilder

Deontay Wilder is going to have a fight on January 16 next year. His opponent hasn’t been announced yet. Here is a list of the 5 possible candidates who’ll face Wilder in his upcoming fights.

Deontay Wilder, the 30 year old American fighter, is the current WBC heavyweight title holder. The undefeated champion possesses a track record of 35-0 with as many as 34 knockouts. Wilder is going to have his next fight in January 2016 in New York. The opponent of the fight is yet to be announced. As Wilder holds the current WBC title, therefore many heavyweights are being expected to fight him for the title.

Here are the top 5 possible candidates for Wilder’s next fight(s).
  1. Anthony Joshua

AnthonyJoshua, the unbeaten British heavyweight with a track record of 14-0 and 14 KOs is likely to fight Wilder soon. On December 12, Joshua is going to fight Dillian Whyte. After that fight, the 26 year old may sign up for a faceoff with Wilder.

2.Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury recently defeated the renowned former champion Wladimir Klitschko and won the WBA (Super), WBO, IBF and IBO titles in the heavyweight division. Fury remains undefeated and possesses a track record of 25-0 with 18 knockouts. He’ll definitely want to unify all the titles in his weight division (if he successfully defends the titles in the rematch with Klitschko) which is why he’ll possibly be facing Wilder in the upcoming year.

3.Wladimir Klitschko

Klitschko, who lately lost his titles to Fury by losing through unanimous decision, will desire to make a huge comeback for sure. The renowned fighter possesses a track record of 64-4 with 53 knockouts and will probably face Wilder soon, after the rematch with Fury, for the WBC title.

4.Dillian Whyte

Dillian Whyte, another unbeaten British fighter, holds a track record of 16-0 with 13 knockouts. He’s going to face Joshua after which he’ll definitely want another big fight and what can be better than a title shot? Whyte is a worthy candidate for Wilder’s upcoming fights.

5.David Haye

David ‘Haymaker’ Haye has recently announced his comeback to boxing after a long time. He is a renowned fighter who possesses a track record of 26-2 with 24 KOs. Hayemaker is going to face Mark de Mori in the ring after which he’ll possibly challenge Wilder for a title fight. After all, who doesn’t want to end a great streak and win a title for making a glorious comeback?

Mark de Mori Hits Haye and Wilder with a Verbal Jab!

Mark de Mori lately talked about his upcoming fight against Hayemaker. He said that Haye is a better fighter than Wilder but he’s gonna surprise him.

David Haye, the British heavyweight fighter, has recently announced his comeback to boxing after a long time. Hayemaker is going to face Mark de Mori, the Australian boxer, on January 16 at 02 Arena in Greenwich, London. The same day, the American pugilist, Deontay Wilder is going to have a face off in Brooklyn, New York against an opponent yet to be announced.

Haye is a renowned fighter and has fought as many as 28 bouts till now out of which he lost only two and won the remaining 26. He has managed to knock out 24 of his opponents out so far. On the other hand, ‘The Dominator’ possesses a track record of 30-1-2 with 26 knockouts.

Mark de Mori recently said that Haye is a far bigger name as compared to the unbeaten WBC heavyweight champ Wilder, who possesses a track record of 35-0 with 34 knockouts. Talking about his upcoming fight, the 33 year old fighter Mark said, “This is everything for me. David Haye is a bigger name than Wilder anyway. He's an action fighter, which makes it a lot better for me because he'll come to fight. These taller guys, they use their jab and create a boring fight. David's a good fighter. He's explosive but he's always injured. If there's ever a time to get him, it's now! He's looking past me at Fury and Joshua so I can really surprise him. He sees me as a way to get back in the rankings. He's not as motivated as I am. This is the biggest fight of my life but for a guy who's fought Wladimir Klitschko, he's had bigger fights.”

GILBERTO SANCHEZ TAKES ON GEVORG KHATCHIKIAN THIS FRIDAY

November 20 brings a fight between the undefeated Mexican boxing star Gilberto Ramirez Sanchez and the expert Dutch pugilist Gevorg Khatchikian. The fight is very important for Sanchez as he is a mandatory candidate for the current WBO super middleweight title holder Arthur Abraham, who is going to defend his title against Martin Murray on November 21. If Sanchez wins the upcoming bout, no one can stop him from fighting Abraham for the championship but if he fails to win it, Abraham will have all the reasons to avoid the fight.

Sanchez, the 24 year old boxer, possesses a track record of 32-0 with as many as 24 knockouts. He hasn’t lost even a single fight in his entire boxing career yet. On the other hand, Khatchikian holds a track record of 23-1 with 11 knockouts. He won the first 20 fights of his career in a row but in the 21st fight, which took place at City Academy Sports Centre, Bristol, Avon, UK, he lost to James DeGale by getting knocked out in the ring.

The fight is going to take place in Las Vegas where Sanchez will fight for the second time in his life. Talking about the fight, Sanchez said, “I know what’s at stake here. It’s extra motivation for me. It keeps me focused because I know what comes next.”

He further added, “It was a wonderful experience being able to fight in Las Vegas. It’s the dream of every fighter to fight in Las Vegas and perform well. I want to impress the people in this fight and get my hand raised. I’m still learning and growing as a fighter. I know he’s going to be hungry, and we’re preparing for everything. We don’t want to be surprised.”
